The first prototypes of this skateboard were built out of unused bits and pieces of perforated metal, scrap from the process of making steel furniture at RAD Furniture. These steel boards were made by cutting, welding, and heat bending the perforated off-cuts. Though the steel boards worked great, the process took too long and were pretty heavy. There had to be a better way. We started researching different materials, and learned that lightweight composites were the solution, and Lander was born.
